A festival of knowledge and culture will be held from November 13 to 23, 2025
Kanpur: Inspired by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Satish Mahana, a grand book fair is being organized in Kanpur Nagar from November 13 in collaboration with the Government Inter College at the GIC Ground, Chunniganj.
This grand event, dedicated to the theme ‘Vision 2047: Developed India, Developed State,’ will continue until November 23, 2025. The director of the book fair, Aakarsh Chandel, informed in a press conference that the Kanpur Book Fair will feature over 80 stalls from renowned publishers, distributors, literary and social organizations from various cities across the country, showcasing a diverse range of thousands of books in Hindi, English, Urdu, and other regional languages, including literature, educational books, and children’s literature.
The fair will be inaugurated by Satish Mahana on November 13 at 5:00 PM. With free entry, the literary platform dedicated to literature, art, and culture will host daily book launches, meet-the-author sessions, discussions, poetry conferences, and various other events to encourage the talents of youth and children.
Convenor Manoj Singh Chandel mentioned that Force One Books has successfully organized several book fairs in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj, and Agra over the past 22 years. The National Book Fair held in Lucknow since 2003 is among the most popular and prestigious book fairs in the country.
The book fair aims to promote dwindling interest in books, spread the light of knowledge to every individual, and re-establish book culture. Thousands of book lovers, students, children, writers, and citizens from Kanpur and nearby areas will have the opportunity to explore and purchase books of their interest.
The Principal of GIC, Sanjay Kumar Yadav, stated that this is not just a book fair; it is a festival of knowledge and culture. We are gathering various publications keeping in mind the interests of all types of readers. We invite everyone to be a part of this enriching experience.

The author sessions and panel discussions at the fair will feature discussions with renowned and emerging authors. Literary programs will include traditional poetry conferences, mushairas, and book launches, along with a children’s corner for storytelling sessions and competitions for young readers. The fair will run daily from 11 AM to 9 PM, offering at least a 10% discount on every purchased book. There will also be a special corner for youth.
Stalls will be set up in a 20,000 square feet waterproof German hanger. Major publishers and partners include Rajkamal Prakashan, Rajpal & Sons, Gita Press, Lokbharti Prakashan, Sasta Sahitya Mandal, Hindi Yugm, Samyak Prakashan, Publications Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Institute of Chartered Accountant of India, National Councils for Promotion of Urdu Language, Nikhil Publishers & Distributors, Divyansh Publications, Dinkar Pustakalaya, Bodhras Prakashan, Vedika Book Mart, Padma Book Company, Ritesh Book Agency , Universal Book Store, Tridev Books Collections , Dev Book Collection, Yogda Satsang Society of India, Aditri Book Center, Naman Prakashan, Ira Publishers, Acupressure Healthcare Systems, H Jute Bags and others.
There will be a special free stall for local authors where any writer can display their books.
All book lovers coming to the book fair via Kanpur Metro will receive special discounts and have a chance to win gifts in a lucky draw. The organizers have appealed to all media representatives to provide detailed information about the book fair through their esteemed newspapers and channels.
The book fair is receiving special support from Kanpur Metro, Origins, Vijay Studio, Kiran Foundation, and City Essence – Trade Mitra Magazine. On this occasion, senior journalist Shridhar Agnihotri and Dr. Manish Shukla called for cooperation from all media. They stated that Kanpur, an industrial city, is home to the world-renowned IIT and several other universities and institutions. Many significant educational institutions and universities have been established in recent decades. The organization of the book fair will provide everyone with the opportunity to access best-selling books in one place.
