Lucknow: Lucknow Golf Club is hosting the 3rd edition of the Lucknow Golf League 2025. It was inaugurated by Principal Secretary (Home), Government of Uttar Pradesh, Sanjay Prasad. The event was graced by the presence of Club President Dr. Subhash Chandra IPS (Retd.), Captain R.S. Nanda, and Honorary Secretary Rajnish Sethi, along with an enthusiastic gathering of members.
Tournament Overview This much-anticipated annual event features 12 teams competing for a total prize pool of Rs 10 lakhs. The tournament is generously sponsored by leading brands, including Adani Group, VI Business, APS Securitas Pvt. Ltd., MG Motors, DBS Bank, AJB Fine Jewels, and Pioneer Montessori School.
Day 1 Matches The opening day saw two exciting matchups:
- Amazing Origins vs. Mulligators
- Fairway Tigers vs. G S Express
To heighten the competition, the playing format has been modified, ensuring that all four players must perform consistently. Even halving a hole now impacts the second player’s ball count, making each stroke crucial.
The revised format led to some dominant performances, with Dharmendra Singh and Mohit Yadav decisively defeating Satyendra Kumar Singh and Col. Chinmaya Varma 9&7. Similarly, Bubbly Nanda and Dhruv Goyal secured a comfortable victory against Rajeev Dubey and Sudhir Shah. In the end, Amazing Origins narrowly won 3-2.
Game 2 proved to be even more thrilling, ending in a 2.5-2.5 tie. Standout performances came from J.P. Sial and A.M. Shaikh, alongside Somesh Bharadwaj and Rajeev Srivastav for Fairway Tigers, while Sandeep Kalsi and Shikhar Singh, supported by veterans P.K. Rao and K.K. Srivastav, ensured the tie. A pivotal moment was the final match between Rishi Khanna and Sandeep Agarwal against Awadhesh Pratap Singh and Anand Kumar Shukla, which ended all square.
Looking Ahead Each team will play five league matches, with every match carrying five critical points. With only the first matches concluded, the stakes remain high as the tournament progresses.
