Lucknow: A late-night incident in Wazirbag, a central locality in Lucknow, has left residents shaken after a teenager was allegedly abducted and beaten by a group of local youths. The victim had gone out to buy groceries when he was reportedly confronted, threatened, and taken to a secluded area by the accused, where he suffered physical assault.
The victim’s mother, Tanzeem Fatima, filed a written complaint with the police, alleging that the accused—identified as Shahnawaz, Arshad, Sameer, Sahil, and their associates—have prior criminal records and possess illegal weapons. According to initial reports, the incident stemmed from a dispute over a neighborhood girl, which escalated into violence.
Police have filed cross FIRs based on complaints from both sides, registering cases against a total of five individuals. Inspector Saadatganj confirmed that the clash appears to be connected to a long-standing neighborhood rivalry. Both parties were directly involved in the altercation, and legal proceedings are underway.

Residents expressed concern over safety in the area, noting that the accused are notorious for intimidation and previous criminal activities. Authorities are now investigating the matter thoroughly to determine the root cause of the conflict and identify those primarily responsible.
This incident highlights the need for heightened vigilance in densely populated areas and the prompt action by law enforcement to prevent further escalation.
