‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ Fame Babita Ji May Soon Turn Bride

Mumbai | Popular television actress Munmun Dutta, best known for her role as Babita Ji in the long-running comedy show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has once again grabbed headlines—this time for candidly opening up about her personal life. For the first time, the actress has spoken at length about love, marriage and her future plans, sparking fresh curiosity among her fans.

Munmun Dutta, who has been a household name for years thanks to the show’s massive popularity, usually keeps her private life away from the spotlight. However, during a recent conversation on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast, the actress shared her honest thoughts on relationships, marriage and compatibility.

When asked whether she plans to get married soon, Munmun said that she believes deeply in love but is still unsure about marriage. “I love love, but I am not clear yet whether I want to get married or not. If it is written in my destiny, it will happen. I am not someone who runs after marriage,” she said. She added that she never grew up with fixed ideas about how her husband or wedding should be.

Speaking about the qualities she looks for in a partner, Munmun said she prefers someone who is good-looking, intelligent, financially stable and has strong communication skills. Emphasising honesty, she said she values clarity and truth in a relationship. The actress also revealed her current fascination with Korean actors, admitting she has developed quite a crush on them lately.

Interestingly, Munmun also spoke openly about the possibility of marrying a foreign national and settling abroad. Responding to a question on whether she would consider marrying a foreigner, the actress said she is open to the idea. “I bond well with foreigners. One of the best things about them is that they are often born in one place and live in another, which broadens their thinking. Travel changes perspectives, and they tend to be more courteous and respectful towards women,” she said.

She clarified that her remarks should not be seen as criticism of Indian men. “I am not saying Indian men are bad. Many Indian men are my close friends—they are wonderful and very respectful towards women. But not everyone is the same,” Munmun added, noting that many Indian women would likely relate to her views.

Munmun Dutta’s frank and thoughtful remarks have resonated strongly with fans, who have praised her for speaking honestly about modern relationships and personal choice. While there is no official confirmation of wedding plans yet, her comments have certainly fuelled speculation that Babita Ji may be preparing for a new chapter in life—possibly even abroad.
