“Swachhata ke Rang, Bachchon ke Sang”: Lalit Kala Akademi Lucknow Hosts One-Day Painting Workshop on Cleanliness

Lucknow — The Lalit Kala Akademi, Regional Centre, Lucknow held a vibrant one-day painting workshop titled “Swachhata ke Rang, Bachchon ke Sang”, aligning with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and aimed at promoting cleanliness through the lens of art and creativity among young minds.

The event was inaugurated at 10:00 AM at the centre’s art gallery by Shri Om Prakash, Director & Rajbhasha Officer, and Member Secretary, NARAKAS (Office-2), Geological Survey of India, Northern Region, Lucknow, along with distinguished guests Dr. Mithilesh Tiwari, Vice President, Birju Maharaj Kathak Sansthan, and Mrs. Vibha Singh, Vice President, Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Akademi. The event was held in the presence of Dr. Devendra Tripathi, Regional Secretary of the Akademi.

Students from Chetna Institute for Intellectually Disabled, R.K. Senior Secondary School, City Montessori School, and Saraswati Vidya Mandir, all based in Aliganj, Lucknow, actively participated in the workshop. The students expressed their ideas on cleanliness through vibrant colours and meaningful artworks.

Om Prakash, the chief guest, lauded the Akademi’s initiative to empower young artists through such workshops. He emphasized, “Cleanliness and development go hand in hand. A clean environment leads to a healthy and progressive society. True development is incomplete without cleanliness.”

Dr. Mithilesh Tiwari, special guest, remarked, “Such workshops give budding artists an opportunity to express themselves and gain hands-on experience with contemporary techniques.”

Dr. Devendra Tripathi added that the goal of this initiative was to instill awareness about cleanliness through art and to help students direct their creativity toward constructive social change.

All participating students were provided with art materials by Lalit Kala Akademi and were awarded certificates of participation. The event saw enthusiastic involvement from artists, students, researchers, and art enthusiasts alike.

Notable attendees included staff and artists from the Akademi such as Venugopal Parashar,  Shitanshu Gupta Maurya, Prem Sagar Sharma,  Soumya, and  Gyanendra Mishra, along with several city-based art lovers who lent their support to the cause.

The workshop not only fostered artistic expression but also served as a meaningful platform to spread awareness about hygiene and civic responsibility through creative engagement.
