Lucknow: In a swift breakthrough, the Sushant Golf City Police Station under the Southern Zone successfully cracked a house theft case within 48 hours, arresting the accused driver and recovering 100 percent of the stolen property, including ₹10 lakh in cash and valuable gold and silver jewellery.
Complaint and Case Registration
On February 27, 2026, complainant Nilesh Singh, son of Sugreev Singh and resident of Kutumb Niwas, Saidata Road, Sarsawan, under Sushant Golf City Police Station, lodged a written complaint alleging that his driver, Rajendra Sharma, had broken into his residence and stolen jewellery and cash kept in lockers and cupboards before fleeing.
Based on the complaint, FIR No. 114/2026 was registered under Sections 331(4) and 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against the accused.
To ensure speedy investigation, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southern) constituted three dedicated teams at the police station level.
Arrest in Amroha
During investigation, police teams gathered technical and manual evidence, leading to information that the accused was residing on rent in Jawaharnagar locality near Khadgujar Chauraha under Gajraula Police Station in Amroha district.
On March 1, 2026, the police conducted a raid and arrested Rajendra Sharma from Amroha. He was informed of the charges under Sections 331(4), 305(a), and 317(2) BNS and subsequently sent to judicial custody following legal formalities.
Accused Details
Rajendra Sharma (44), son of Brijanandan Sharma alias Babuji Vishwakarma alias Vijay Sharma, is originally a resident of Nazimabad Suryanagar, Kichha Police Station area, Udham Singh Nagar district, Uttarakhand. He was currently residing at Rampur Devarai Ward No. 05 near Shani Temple, Chandrika Devi Road, under Bakshi Ka Talab Police Station, Lucknow. He worked as a driver for the complainant.
Confession and Recovery
During interrogation, the accused admitted that on the night of February 24/25, 2026, he took advantage of his employer’s absence, broke open the room and cupboard locks, and stole jewellery and cash out of greed.
He concealed the stolen items in a black backpack at his rented accommodation. Acting on his disclosure, police recovered the entire stolen property from the bag, which was identified on the spot by the complainant. Based on the recovery, Section 317(2) BNS was added to the case.

Gold earrings, jhumkas, chains with lockets, bangles, bracelets, and necklaces

₹10,00,000 in cash (2000 notes of ₹500 denomination)
Reward for Police Team
In recognition of the swift detection and full recovery of stolen property, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southern) announced a cash reward of ₹25,000 for the police team of Sushant Golf City Police Station.
Police officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring prompt action in cases involving breach of trust and property crimes.
