Lucknow: Acting on the directions of the DCP Traffic, the Lucknow Traffic Police conducted a comprehensive road safety awareness campaign on Saturday at Scooter India Chauraha in Krishna Nagar and various schools and colleges in Banthra. The initiative aimed to educate students about essential traffic rules and promote a culture of safe and disciplined commuting.
Under the supervision of Traffic ACP Radha Raman Singh, awareness sessions were held at GSRM Memorial Nursing College near Scooter India Chauraha and Green Berry World School located on Kanpur Highway in Banthra. During the sessions, students were briefed on the importance of following road safety norms, benefits of wearing helmets, and adherence to basic traffic rules to ensure smooth and secure travel.
ACP Radha Raman Singh emphasised that “safe travel is everyone’s responsibility, and by following traffic rules we can significantly reduce road accidents.” He added that the primary objective of the campaign was to promote traffic discipline among young citizens and help curb the rising number of road mishaps.
Traffic Inspector Krishna Nagar, Ravindra Kumar Singh, along with principals, teachers, and staff of the respective institutions, were present during the awareness drive. The team demonstrated the use of QR codes in autos for passenger safety and explained the importance of helmets for two-wheeler riders and seat belts for four-wheeler users.
Students were also encouraged to practice responsible road behaviour and to spread awareness among peers and families. Informational pamphlets detailing key traffic rules were distributed by the traffic police team.
The initiative received enthusiastic appreciation from students, teachers, and school authorities, who praised the Lucknow Traffic Police for bringing vital road safety education directly to campuses. They noted that such campaigns equip the younger generation with awareness that will help them become responsible and law-abiding road users.
The traffic department plans to continue similar awareness activities across the city to strengthen road safety practices and foster a disciplined traffic culture among citizens.
