Students Explore Dudhwa and Katarniaghat on Vistadome Train: A Unique Educational Tour

Eco-Tourism Development Board’s Initiative Brings Lucknow Girls Closer to Nature, Says Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh

Lucknow : In a novel initiative aimed at promoting eco-tourism and environmental awareness among the youth, the Uttar Pradesh Eco-Tourism Development Board organized a special one-day educational tour for girl students from Lucknow. The tour took the students to the Dudhwa Tiger Reserve and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary aboard a state-of-the-art Vistadome train, offering a panoramic and immersive travel experience.

Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh shared details of the tour, stating that the participating students were from M.D. Shukla Inter College, Lucknow, and are active members of the Yuva Tourism Club. The journey began at Bichhia station and concluded at Mailani station, with students enjoying scenic landscapes, diverse flora and fauna, and gaining insights into wildlife conservation throughout the journey.

During the tour, students were introduced to the rich biodiversity of Dudhwa and Katarniaghat, including species like tigers, swamp deer, rhinos, and rare birds. The participants expressed awe at the serene environment and breathtaking beauty of the forests, and engaged in learning about the delicate ecological balance of these habitats.

Minister Singh remarked, “This initiative is a valuable step in not only educating our youth about the importance of eco-tourism but also instilling in them a deep sense of responsibility towards nature and conservation.”

Adding further value to the initiative, the tour also saw participation from several noted social media influencers from across the country. As part of a familiarization (FAM) trip organized by the Eco-Tourism Board, these influencers documented their experiences and pledged to amplify the message of sustainable tourism through their digital platforms, reaching a global audience.

The initiative has been widely appreciated by educators and environmentalists alike, marking it as a commendable effort to connect young minds with nature and promote responsible travel in India.
