Lucknow : The Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science successfully concluded its summer internship training program, hosting 38 students from top academic institutions across India. Participants hailed from NCR Delhi, Uttarakhand, Chennai, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh, engaging in intensive practical learning in forensic science.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Additional Director General (Logistics) Raj Kumar as the chief guest. He was presented with a memento by Dr. G.K. Goswami, the institute’s founding director, and Rajeev Malhotra, Additional Director, in recognition of his contribution to law enforcement and support for forensic education.
Addressing the interns, ADG Raj Kumar emphasized the growing importance of forensic science under the new legal framework in India.
“Forensic science is being prioritized under new legal provisions, opening vast career prospects for aspiring professionals,” he stated.
Dr. G.K. Goswami underlined the role of forensic science in the justice system, noting that the discipline is a vital pillar that strengthens judicial processes through evidence-based investigation.
Speaking to the students, Rajeev Malhotra reminded them,

“There is no alternative to determination. If you stay committed, success is inevitable.”
The program provided students with hands-on training in various branches of forensic science, including crime scene investigation, DNA analysis, cyber forensics, and toxicology, under the guidance of seasoned professionals and faculty members.
The event saw the presence of several distinguished guests and faculty members including SP Chiranjib Mukherjee, Atul Yadav, Santosh Tiwari, and Inspectors Brajesh Singh and Girijesh Rai, along with faculty members Dr. Arun Khatri, Dr. Sapna Sharma, Dr. Prerna, Dr. Preeti, Dr. Neha, Dr. Nitasha, Dr. Neha Mathur, Dr. Shruti Das, Dr. Ajit Kumar, and Dr. Anjuli Thaybar.
The successful completion of the internship marks yet another milestone in the Institute’s commitment to nurturing future forensic experts and strengthening the scientific base of India’s criminal justice system.
