Lucknow | In view of the upcoming Chhath Puja festivities, Government Railway Police (GRP) Superintendent Rohit Mishra carried out a surprise inspection at Lucknow’s Charbagh Railway Station on Monday to review the security arrangements and ensure passenger safety during the festive rush.
During the inspection, GRP Circle Officer Amit Kumar Singh, Station House Officer (SHO) Dharmveer Singh, and RPF Inspector Bhupendra Chaudhary were also present. The team closely monitored passenger movement, checked entry and exit points, and reviewed patrolling activities across the station premises.
Superintendent Mishra instructed officials to maintain heightened vigilance and ensure that no lapse occurs in the security arrangements. He emphasized that the safety of commuters remains the top priority, especially during the festive season when passenger footfall increases significantly.
As part of the inspection, dog squads and bomb disposal units conducted an extensive search across platforms, waiting areas, and parking zones. Luggage screening and random checks were also intensified to prevent any untoward incident.

Authorities have been directed to coordinate closely with Railway Protection Force (RPF) and ensure seamless crowd management, particularly during peak hours and on platforms with trains bound for Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The GRP has assured that all possible measures are being taken to provide a safe and hassle-free travel experience for passengers heading home to celebrate Chhath Puja with their families.
