STF Uttar Pradesh Arrests Fugitive with ₹30,000 Reward from Surat, Gujarat

Lucknow: The Special Task Force (STF), Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, achieved a significant success by arresting Shailendra Kumar Singh, a fugitive wanted for over 16 years in Surat, Gujarat, with a reward of ₹30,000 on his head. The arrest was made on March 26, 2026, near Vrindavan Yojana, Sector 09, PGI area, Lucknow, at around 5:30 PM.

The accused, Shailendra Kumar Singh alias Raju Singh, son of Chandrabhan Singh alias Ajay Singh, resident of Khajuran village, Badlapur, Jaunpur, was wanted in FIR No. 66/2010 registered at Adajan Police Station, Surat, under Sections 395, 397, 188 IPC and 25(1)A of the Arms Act, related to a robbery committed in 2010.

The STF Lucknow received information from Shailesh Radhe Bihari Dubey, Assistant Police Inspector, Surat, regarding the fugitive hiding in Lucknow. Acting on this intelligence, an STF team led by Sub-Inspector Fayazuddin Siddiqui, along with key personnel Rameshankar Chaudhary, Raghvendra Tiwari, Chetan Singh, and Sunil Mishra, conducted surveillance in Lucknow. The team located and arrested Shailendra Kumar Singh with the assistance of Gujarat Police.

During interrogation, Singh admitted that he had gone to Gujarat in 2009 seeking employment and, along with four associates, committed a robbery in Surat in 2010. Following the arrests of his accomplices, he fled Gujarat to Mumbai and later moved to Jaunpur, before hiding in Lucknow for several years.

The accused has a known criminal history including multiple robbery cases in Surat. He has been handed over to local courts in Surat, Gujarat, for legal proceedings and transit remand.
