‘Stand Firm for Dharma’: CM Yogi Adityanath on the Essence of Bhagwat Katha

GORAKHPUR – Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Gorakshpeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath stated that the true essence of the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapurana is to maintain a spirit of devotion and dedication to Sanatana Dharma under all circumstances. He described the Katha as a discourse that provides the knowledge of life, connects people with devotion, and reveals the path to liberation.

Speaking at the conclusion of the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapurana Gyan Yagya, held to commemorate the 56th death anniversary of late Mahant Digvijaynath and the 11th death anniversary of Rashtrasant Mahant Avedyanath, CM Yogi said the story was first narrated 5,000 years ago by Swami Shukdev to free King Parikshit from the fear of death. He added that since then, the Katha has become a medium for the liberation of millions of Sanatana Dharma followers.

The Chief Minister highlighted that the tradition of sages in India proclaims that birth in this country is rare, and birth as a human is even more so. He emphasized that it is Sanatan Bharat that has given the gift of the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, which reveals the secrets of life and is the giver of knowledge, devotion, and liberation. He further stressed that the true meaning of the Katha is to remain firm and unwavering in one’s religion and country, without bowing down or stopping in any situation, and to maintain a sense of devotion to Sanatana and India.

CM Yogi also praised the narrator, Jagadguru Ramanandacharya Swami Ramdineshacharya, for his simple and profound delivery of the Katha. He announced that Swami Ramdineshacharya, who comes from the Ramanandacharya tradition, will be invited to narrate the Shri Ram Katha next year.
