SRMS Medical College Hosts Chart Competition ‘Anatocanvas’; Group 24 Clinches First Prize

Bareilly: The Department of Anatomy at SRMS Medical College organized a vibrant chart-making competition titled ‘Anatocanvas’ for MBBS Batch 2024, showcasing creativity and academic insight into human anatomy. Group 24 emerged as the winner, securing the first prize for their detailed chart on the Inguinal Canal. Group 6 and Group 26 secured the second and third prizes, respectively.

Group 24, comprising Ayushi, Ayushka Pandey, Bhange Yogesh Haribhau, Bhaskar Satyam, and Bhoomika Varshney, was awarded medals and certificates for their top-ranking chart. The second prize was awarded to Group 6 (Vaibhav Singh, Vansh Sikri, Vatsal Narendra Doodhiya, Vedant Sharma, and Vidushi Shrinetra) for their chart on the Dural Venous System, while Group 26 (Ashlesha Sunil Katole, Aastha Patel, Avinash Raj, Ayush Garg, and Ayush Mishra) earned the third prize for their depiction of the Ischioanal Fossa.

Consolation prizes were awarded to:

  • Group 4 for Brachial Plexus

  • Group 3 for Arterial Arches of the Head

  • Group 7 for Course of the External Carotid Artery

  • Group 19 for Arteries and Nerves of the Thigh

  • Group 28 for Coeliac Trunk, Pancreas, Duodenum, and Spleen

The event also marked the inauguration of newly established labs in Neuroanatomy, Embryology, and Anthropometry within the Anatomy Department. The labs were inaugurated by the Chairman of the institution, Shri Dev Murti, in the presence of Director (Administration) Shri Aditya Murti, Principal Air Marshal (Retd.) Dr. M.S. Butola, and Head of Anatomy Department, Dr. Namita Mehrotra.

The judging panel included Dr. S.K. Sagar, Dr. Shashibala Arya, Dr. Vandana Negi, Dr. Bindu Garg, and Dr. Meenakshi Jindal, who praised the students for their in-depth understanding and artistic representation of anatomical structures.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Kanchan Bisht and was attended by faculty members including Dr. Shambhu Prasad, Dr. Dhananjay Kumar, and Dr. Samta Tiwari.
