Lucknow: A profound spiritual atmosphere enveloped the Babuji Memorial Ashram on IIM Road, Lucknow, on Sunday as Kamlesh D. Patel, popularly known as Daaji, the global spiritual guide of Heartfulness Meditation and President of the Shri Ram Chandra Mission, arrived in the city.
This marked Daaji’s first visit to the Uttar Pradesh capital after being conferred the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian honor, for his outstanding contributions to the field of spirituality. The Uttar Pradesh government extended him the status of State Guest in recognition of his work.
In the evening session, thousands of seekers from across religions and communities meditated together under Daaji’s guidance, creating a collective atmosphere of peace and introspection. A significant presence of youth from Lucknow and surrounding districts was noted at the session.
Heartfulness, a spiritual organization active in over 160 countries, continues its mission of free meditation training and humanitarian service. Daaji’s visit also highlighted the ongoing ‘Ekatma Abhiyan’, a village wellness initiative supported by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, and the Uttar Pradesh government, promoting holistic and stress-free living through meditation and yoga. Many village heads and residents who are part of the campaign also participated in the meditation session.
Special meditation programs will continue on Monday and Tuesday under Daaji’s presence. He will then travel to Prayagraj, followed by Varanasi, which will be his final stop in Uttar Pradesh before returning to Heartfulness Global Headquarters at Kanha Shantivanam, Hyderabad.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the unifying strength of meditation and the rising global appeal of India’s spiritual heritage.
