Special educational area in Lucknow to be modelled on Dubai

Special educational area

Lucknow: Mohan Road Yojana of Lucknow Development Authority will become the largest education hub of Uttar Pradesh. For this, a special educational area will be developed in the scheme under the National Education Policy-2020. Where primary, secondary, higher secondary and higher education facilities will be available at one place on the lines of Dubai and Qatar.

Its blueprint was drawn in an important meeting held in the Parijat Auditorium of Lucknow Development Authority regarding the scheme. Chief Minister’s Financial Advisor KV Raju, Principal Secretary Planning Alok Kumar and Principal Secretary Higher Education MP Agarwal and LDA Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar were mainly present in the meeting.

In the meeting, a presentation of the layout of the scheme was given by LDA Vice President Prathamesh Kumar. He told that like Chandigarh/Panchkula, Mohan Road Yojana will be developed on a grid pattern. A total of 08 sectors will be made in the scheme, in which provision of solid waste management, sectoral shopping center, baraat ghar and vending zone will be made in each sector.

Also, rotary will be developed at all major intersections, in which the traffic turning left will be given free pass. In the scheme, a total of 2532 residential plots of area from 112.50 sqm to 450 sqm will be planned along with large plots of group housing. Apart from this, plots will be planned in bulk for educational institutions in the scheme and it will be given the form of an education city.

During the meeting, the education city developed in Dubai and Qatar was discussed in detail. It was decided that instead of planning separate plots for educational institutions in the Mohan Road scheme, a large plot should be planned at one place. Where complete facilities of primary, secondary, higher secondary and higher education can be made available at one place.

For this, by making a little change in the layout of the scheme, a large plot of 103 acres area will be planned on a 60 meter and 45 meter wide road. Along with this, plots of group housing will be developed nearby for the residence of the education faculty.

Investors from universities and education sector should not face financial hurdles in buying such a big plot and developing infrastructure. For this, many options will be given in the EOI being prepared. For example, buyers will be given attractive options of possession on 25 percent payment and lease rental plan etc.

In this, if a master developer wants, he can buy the plot alone and get the development work done or the option of consortium agreement and joint venture method will also be open.

Authority Secretary Vivek Srivastava, Joint Secretary Sushil Pratap Singh, Chief Engineer in charge Avnindra Kumar Singh, Superintending Engineer Navneet Sharma, Executive Engineer Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Assistant Engineer Rahul Verma along with other officers, engineers, architects and consultants were present in the meeting.
