SP, Congress Conspired to Alter Demography in Sambhal: CM Yogi

Pratapgarh: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath  launched a scathing attack on the opposition, accusing the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress of attempting to alter the state’s demography during their regimes. Referring to the judicial commission report on the 2024 Sambhal violence, he alleged that Hindus were “systematically targeted” to reduce their population share.

Addressing a public rally after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 186 development projects worth ₹570 crore in Pratapgarh, the Chief Minister warned, “Anyone attempting to change the demography of the state will have to leave Uttar Pradesh themselves. The double-engine government will not allow such divisive politics at any cost.”

He said the opposition was rattled by the pace of development under the BJP government and described the INDIA bloc as an “anti-India alliance that thrives on anarchy and appeasement politics.”

Highlighting key projects, CM Yogi said Pratapgarh had become a model under the “One District, One Product” and “One District, One Medical College” schemes. The district, known for its amla produce, now has the Sonelal Patel Medical College and is witnessing improved connectivity through the Ganga Expressway.

Slamming recent derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during the INDIA bloc’s Bihar rally, CM Yogi said such comments reflect the opposition’s “frustration.” He added, “PM Modi is the world’s most popular leader. Speaking ill of him is like spitting at the sun—it only falls back on those who do it.”

The Chief Minister also emphasized women’s safety, warning that “anyone attempting to harm the dignity of daughters will find Yamraj waiting at the next crossing.” He cited recent police recruitments, where over 12,000 women were selected, as well as initiatives like Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao, Kanya Sumangala, and Samuhik Vivah Yojana to empower women.

On the sports front, CM Yogi announced plans to set up sports colleges in every commissionerate, along with a stadium and smart city facilities in Pratapgarh.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the famous Belha Devi Temple, directing officials to enhance facilities for devotees.

During the event, he also distributed benefits under various welfare schemes, including housing keys, solar pumps, Ayushman Bharat and CM Jan Arogya Yojana health cards, and financial assistance to self-help groups and youth entrepreneurs.

The event was attended by State Minister Daya Shankar Singh, MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and senior officials.
