Lucknow – The Kalyan Singh Cancer Institute is steadily emerging as a premier center for cancer treatment, offering world-class facilities, advanced machines, and expert doctors. This was shared by the institute’s Director, Prof. Madan Lal Brahm Bhatt, during a press conference.
Prof. Bhatt said that the institute has set new benchmarks in cancer care, leading to a growing inflow of patients from distant regions. “The Cancer Institute runs OPD services six days a week, benefitting nearly 400 patients daily. All our faculty departments are actively functional,” he stated.
Currently, the institute operates 280 indoor beds, which will soon be expanded to 500. With eight operation theatres, the institute performs an average of 12 to 15 surgeries each week. Prof. Bhatt added that continuous efforts are being made to enhance efficiency, with large-scale recruitment of specialist doctors and staff, along with the procurement of state-of-the-art machines based on global technologies.
Among the advanced equipment procured are CyberKnife, PET-CT, high-level brachytherapy, digital radiography, USG machines, and a digital mammography unit worth around Rs 5.5 crore.
World-Class Blood Bank

Prof. Bhatt further announced that the institute will soon introduce chemotherapy facilities, digital pathology, and a neurosurgical microscope. In addition, a world-class blood bank has been set up on the campus.
He also informed that the institute has received approval for four new departments for medical education and has signed 11 MoUs with institutions like IITs to promote research and innovation. “We want to ensure that patients, who often wander due to lack of information, are made aware of the affordable and accessible treatment available here,” Prof. Bhatt emphasized.
Thousands of patients have benefited from schemes like the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, Ayushman Bharat, Asadhya Rog Yojana, and Pt. Deendayal Cashless Scheme. Prof. Bhatt acknowledged the remarkable support from the government in running these initiatives.
“The institute is progressing every day in the fields of infrastructure, human resources, environment, and patient welfare,” he concluded.
