Single board fits all model in Education on the cards

New Delhi: The Centre, which is working with the states to strengthen the quality of school education, has now advised all states to form a single board for class 10 and 12. The Centre has given this advice to the states when there are still separate board of school education for class 10 and 12 in eight states of the country, including West Bengal, Odisha, Assam.

Not only this, their method of examination and evaluation etc. is also different. However, Karnataka, which is included in these states till now, has accepted the advice of the Centre and merged all its boards of class 10 and 12 last year to form a single board. The Ministry of Education believes that by having a single board of education for class 10 and 12 in the states, they will be able to prepare a common strategy for the development of students studying from class 9 to 12. Where there will be same standards from conducting examinations to evaluation.

There is a difference in the performance of students

At present, the way of working of the board of education for class 10 and 12 in all these states is completely different from each other. The brunt of which has to be borne by the students. Due to this, a huge difference is also seen in the performance of students in class 10th and 12th in these states. At present, after the introduction of the new National Education Policy, the Ministry of Education is trying to bring improvement and uniformity in education in collaboration with the states.

According to a report of the ministry, at present there are a total of 59 school education boards in the country. Of these, there are three national level and 56 state level boards. Out of these, 41 boards are such, which are common boards for class 10th and 12th.

These eight states have separate boards for class 10th and 12th

The eight states of the country which have separate education boards for class 10th and 12th include West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Kerala, Manipur, Telangana and Bihar. Among these, Bihar has a separate Sanskrit board for class 10th, while Assam has two boards each for class 10th and 12th. At the same time, Kerala also has two boards for class 12th. In such a situation, there are a total of 18 boards, which operate separately for class 10th and 12th. These include nine boards for class 10 and nine boards for class 12.

NCERT curriculum not implemented in six boards

Under the new National Education Policy, the Ministry of Education may be busy preparing new textbooks for schools, but there are six education boards in the country that do not teach the NCERT curriculum. They teach their own curriculum in their boards. These education boards include Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Telangana, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal boards.
