It is noteworthy that even before this, the Yogi government has been showering flowers on the devotees during many religious programs including Kumbh, Magh Mela. This tradition is also planned to be followed during Maha Kumbh 2025.
Plan of flower shower on all ghats
Prayagraj Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant said in this regard that during many religious events in Uttar Pradesh, on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, flower showers have been done on devotees, sadhus and saints from helicopters. As per the wishes of the Chief Minister, this tradition will also be carried out in Maha Kumbh 2025. There is a plan to shower flowers on devotees along with Naga ascetics and other saints.

Generally, there is a tradition of showering flowers on Sangam Nose, but this time since more number of devotees will be present, discussions are going on about showering flowers on all other ghats along with Sangam Nose. An action plan will be prepared soon.
Salutation to Sanatan culture and faith
After the formation of the Yogi government, showering flowers on devotees in Uttar Pradesh has become a symbol of salutation to Sanatan culture and faith. Be it the holy bathing festival during Kumbh, or the Magh Mela or the journey of Kanwariyas, the Yogi government does not forget to salute faith through flower showers. CM Yogi himself has been discharging his duty to increase the value of Sanatan culture by showering flowers on devotees and Kanwariyas through helicopters and platforms many times.
During the 2019 Kumbh, on the day of Mauni Amavasya, flowers were showered on millions of devotees who had come to take a holy dip at the Sangam. Even then, the hashtag #PushpVarsha was trending a lot on social media in UP. Continuing this tradition, it is likely to be organized on an even larger scale in Maha Kumbh 2025.
