Lucknow: Senior Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer Shailendra Pratap Singh has been promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) following the recommendation of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The promotion stands as a testament to his long-standing dedication, exemplary service record and unwavering commitment to national security.
A 2004-batch officer of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), Singh has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strong administrative acumen and high operational efficiency throughout his career. During his tenure as head of the Special Security Group (SSG), he played a pivotal role in strengthening security arrangements for Z+ and Z category protectees, significantly enhancing both operational effectiveness and institutional credibility.

His elevation to the DIG rank is not only a personal milestone but also reflects the CISF’s tradition of recognising professionalism, discipline and merit-based service. In his new role, Shailendra Pratap Singh is expected to contribute substantially towards strengthening the national security framework, reinforcing strategic security systems and taking the organisation to greater heights.
