Lucknow: Several faculty members of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University have secured a place among the world’s top 2% scientists. This list is prepared annually by a team of experts led by the renowned Prof. John Ioannidis of Stanford University, USA, and published by Elsevier B.V. Scientists engaged in research across various disciplines are included in this list on the basis of the number, quality, and citations of their research publications. On this occasion, The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Raj Kumar Mittal, congratulated and extended best wishes to all the faculty members, describing their achievement as a matter of great pride for the university.
At the international level, in the list of the world’s top 2% scientists, Prof. Naveen Kumar Arora from the Department of Environmental Science secured 17,575th rank, Prof. Ram Naresh Bhargava from the Department of Environmental Microbiology secured 20,546th rank, Dr. Ramesh Chandra from the Department of Physics received 21,359th rank, Dr. Jaishankar Singh from the Department of Environmental Microbiology secured 39,307th rank, Dr. Vimal Chandra Pandey got 39,674th rank, Dr. Aditya Khamporia from the Department of Computer Science secured 50,716th rank, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Singh from the Department of Physics secured 51,934th rank, Prof. Bal Chandra Yadav from the Department of Physics secured 1,14,107th rank, Prof. B.S. Bhadoria from the Department of Mathematics received 1,22,154th rank, Prof. Ram Chandra from the Department of Environmental Microbiology secured 1,56,443rd rank, Syed Anas Ansar secured 1,97,440th rank, Dr. Abhishek Verma from the Department of Information Technology secured 2,10,071st rank, Deepika P. To prepare this list, parameters are categorized into 22 distinct scientific fields and 174 sub-fields using the Science-Metrics classification system. The career-long data of researchers is updated, following which the list of scientists is issued. For selection, the top scientists are included on the basis of their composite indicator (C-score, with and without self-citations) or those ranking within the top 2% or above in their respective sub-fields. On this basis, faculty members of BBAU have achieved this success.
