Seth M.R. Jaipuria School Radiates Patriotism in Independence Day Celebration

Lucknow: Bathed in the vibrant hues of the tricolour, the front field of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School transformed into a stage of patriotic splendour as students and staff came together in a celebration filled with pride, unity, and joy.

August 15 also marks the birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, a visionary leader who played a pivotal role in India’s freedom struggle. On this day, his transformative mission to elevate human consciousness began — a legacy deeply woven into the school’s values.

Students recited timeless verses from Savitri, paying homage both to India’s hard-won freedom and to the profound wisdom of Sri Aurobindo.

The morning began with  Promini Chopra, Principal of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, and  Asha Chaddha, Principal of Navsrijan, proudly hoisting the tricolour. This was followed by a spirited march past led by the school’s student council heads.

Adding to the vibrance, the youngest learners — from Nursery to Class II — showcased the theme of Unity in Diversity with a colourful State Parade. Representing all 28 states of India, each class brought to life their chosen state through traditional attire, local cuisine, maps, languages, and festival displays.

In her address, Principal Promini Chopra spoke about the vision of a developed India by 2047, reminding students that “India’s true strength lies in its people.” She encouraged them to draw from inner strength, face challenges boldly, and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s growth.

Sarthak, the Head Boy, opened the student speeches with a powerful poem envisioning an India awakened by courage and unity. He likened the nation’s journey to the resilience of a banyan tree and urged the youth to guard freedom fiercely and lead India to global prominence.

Aunika, the Head Girl, emphasized that freedom is not just a historic gift but a daily responsibility. She called on the youth to take ownership of their actions, act with courage and fairness, and build a future rooted in empathy and justice.

The programme brimmed with cultural brilliance — from graceful dances and stirring songs to dramatic skits and thought-provoking presentations. Highlights included a melodic Raag Vrindavani Sarang orchestra, an inspiring spoken word performance India Rises, a thoughtful presentation on Bal Gangadhar Tilak by seventh-grader Priya, and an eloquent Sanskrit speech on Sri Aurobindo’s life.

The celebration concluded with the powerful strains of the National Song sung by the school choir, leaving the audience inspired and steeped in patriotic pride.
