Sitapur: A grand and successful “Save the Constitution Dialogue” (Samvidhan Bachao Samvad) programme was organised on Saturday, January 24, 2026, near Reusa Chauraha, Bazar Purwa Mor, in the Sevata Assembly constituency of Sitapur district. The event witnessed an overwhelming public response, with thousands of people from Sitapur and neighbouring areas in attendance.
The programme was attended by Avinash Pandey, National General Secretary and Uttar Pradesh in-charge of the Congress, as the Chief Guest, while Ajay Rai, President of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, presided over the event. Imran Masood, Member of Parliament from Saharanpur, was present as a Special Guest. The programme was organised under the leadership of Rakesh Rathore, Member of Parliament from Sitapur.

Addressing the gathering, Avinash Pandey said the massive turnout and enthusiasm of the people at the “Save the Constitution Dialogue” sent a clear message that the country is not anyone’s personal fiefdom and will function strictly in accordance with the Constitution framed by Dr B.R. Ambedkar. He alleged that the Congress is firmly standing on all fronts against what he described as the BJP government’s anti-democratic mindset, asserting that a decisive struggle would now be launched to protect the Constitution.
Speaking on the occasion, Ajay Rai announced that the Congress would organise 30 ‘Constitution Dialogue Mahapanchayat’ programmes over the next 100 days, with the Sitapur event marking the first in the series. He said the core objective of these programmes is to create public awareness about the foundational values of the Constitution, democratic principles, social justice, and citizens’ rights, while also exposing what he termed as the failures of the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government.

Imran Masood, while addressing the gathering, emphasised the need for unity to safeguard democratic institutions and constitutional rights, stating that public participation was crucial in preserving India’s constitutional framework.
At the conclusion of the programme, Rakesh Rathore thanked all the dignitaries, party workers, and the large gathering for their participation. He said that such dialogue-based programmes would continue to be organised in the future to ensure the protection of the Constitution. Stressing that the Constitution is supreme, he added that people must remain aware, united, and vigilant to safeguard it.
The presence of a massive crowd from across Sitapur district and adjoining regions gave the event a historic character, marking it as a significant and successful political mobilisation under the Congress’s “Save the Constitution” campaign.
