Lucknow: The eighth phase of the Sarojininagar Sports League, organised under the MP Sports Festival by Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma and Sarojininagar MLA Dr. Rajeshwar Singh, witnessed an action-packed day of football at Jai Jagat Park, LDA Colony. A total of seven thrilling matches were played on Tuesday across the Inter-School and Inter-Club categories, showcasing remarkable discipline, technique and team spirit among young players.
Inter-School Matches
The opening match saw Chiranjiv Bharti School dominate National Public School with an emphatic 4–1 victory, powered by sharp coordination and swift attacking play.
In the second match, CMS Kanpur Road advanced to the quarter-finals via walkover, as APS Academy failed to report on time.
The third fixture turned into a tight contest between Surya Public School and Springdale School, with Springdale edging ahead 1–0, thanks to their solid defence and a decisive late strike.
Inter-Club Matches
In the fourth match and first of the Inter-Club category, Lucknow City FC produced a composed performance to defeat Telibagh Youth Club 2–0.
The fifth encounter saw TFA Chiranjiv overpower Ram Bharose FC with a strong 3–0 win, displaying excellent ball control and strategic gameplay.
Next, Amausi Senior FC outclassed Gomti Enclave FC with a commanding 3–0 victory, showcasing exceptional coordination and a resilient defensive line.
The final match of the day featured a nail-biting contest between Hawkins FC and Wolves Slayers, where Hawkins FC clinched the match 1–0 with a crucial goal in the closing moments.
