Inaugural Dr. Ajit D. Dinkar Memorial Award Presented in Navi Mumbai
Navi Mumbai — Saraswati Dental College & Hospital, Lucknow, marked an outstanding presence at the 36th National Conference of the Indian Academy of Oral Medicine and Radiology (IAOMR), held from November 21–23 at the D Y Patil School of Dentistry, Navi Mumbai. The institution’s postgraduate scholars secured multiple accolades, reinforcing its reputation as a centre of academic and research excellence.
A major highlight of this year’s conference was the unveiling of the Dr. Ajit D. Dinkar Memorial Award, introduced in memory of the late Dr. Ajit D. Dinkar to honour exceptional postgraduate research in Forensic Odontology. The award, instituted for the first time in 2025, will henceforth be conferred annually to the best PG research paper in this specialised field.
In an emotionally charged moment, the inaugural award was presented by Mr. Atharva Ajit Dinkar, son of the late Dr. Dinkar. The honour was bestowed upon Dr. Aastha Singh, a postgraduate student from the Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology at Saraswati Dental College & Hospital, Lucknow, for her impactful research contribution in Forensic Dentistry. As the first-ever recipient, Dr. Singh’s achievement marks a historic milestone for both the award and the institution.

The college’s success extended further into scientific sessions, where its postgraduate students excelled in paper presentations. Dr. Yashvi Sahu secured the First Prize in the Paper Presentation category, while Dr. Priyanshi Mathur won the Second Prize, adding to the college’s impressive medal tally at the national event.
