Saiee Manjrekar: “Cinema Has No Language, Only Stories That Connect”

Mumbai – Actress Saiee Manjrekar, who has carved a niche for herself in both Bollywood and South Indian cinema, believes that films transcend language barriers and are defined by their stories and collaborative spirit.

“Cinema has no language. What truly matters is the story and its ability to connect with audiences,” Saiee said, adding that she looks for inspiring collaborations and meaningful scripts above all else.

Currently focusing on Bollywood and South Indian projects, Saiee expressed her desire to eventually work in Marathi cinema as well. “If the script excites me and the director’s vision is strong, I am open to exploring any industry,” she noted.

Reflecting on her experiences across film industries, Saiee highlighted the differences: “Bollywood often presents stories in a deeply emotional way, while in the South, I’ve seen immense discipline and respect for the craft, which I really admire. Both experiences have shaped me in unique ways, and I feel fortunate to be part of both worlds.”

Saiee credits much of her perspective to her father, acclaimed filmmaker and actor Mahesh Manjrekar, who has worked across eight different languages. “He showed me that good stories can cross boundaries. Inspired by that, I want to create my own multilingual journey that blends mainstream appeal with heartfelt narratives,” she said.

With this vision, Saiee Manjrekar continues to position herself as one of the promising young talents who bridge diverse cinema cultures while staying rooted in strong storytelling.
