Lucknow: Last evening, the stage was set ablowing once again with the magic of Sahir Ludhianvi’s poetry as Rajiv Pradhan presented another captivating performance of ‘Sahīr: Har Ik Pal Kā Shayār’ at the Sant Gadge Auditorium, Lucknow. This powerful play, already a hit on September 21, 2025, left the audience spellbound with its poignant portrayal of the legendary poet’s life and works.
The evening began with the iconic lines: “Main pal do pal kā shā’ir hūm… ” (I am a poet of just a few moments…), setting the tone for a soul-stirring journey through Sahir’s world of love, rebellion, loss, and the pursuit of truth. Written by Chandra Shekhar Verma and directed by Gopal Sinha, the play delved deep into the poet’s inner landscape, exploring his passions, disappointments, and activism.


The cast, led by Dr. Sudhanshu Mani, Rupali Chandra, and Chandra Shekhar Verma, delivered outstanding performances. The live music, featuring Sahir’s timeless classics like “Kabhi Mere Dil Mein” and “Taqdīr Se Bigdi Hūi”, was soulfully rendered by Dr. Prabha Srivastava and Pankaj Kumar.


The production was a masterclass in storytelling, with thoughtful lighting and set design that transported the audience to Sahir’s world. The evening was a testament to the enduring power of poetry and music to touch hearts and minds.
