Mumbai: S.L. Raheja Hospital, Mumbai, has launched a pioneering neuro support group, ‘Hamraahi,’ aimed at providing comprehensive care and assistance to individuals affected by neurological disorders and their caregivers. The initiative seeks to address challenges faced in managing neurological and psychiatric conditions while breaking the stigma surrounding illnesses such as Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and stroke.
The launch event brought together patients, caregivers, medical experts, and the community for an interactive session featuring therapeutic activities, including art and music therapy, expert guidance, and peer support. Bollywood actor and producer Arbaaz Khan inaugurated the program, lending his support to raise awareness about the initiative.
Dr. Kaustubh Mahajan, Director of Neurology at S.L. Raheja Hospital, stated, “Neurological disorders often coexist with mental health conditions, making the journey difficult for patients and their families. Hamraahi is not just a support group; it is a companion for both patients and caregivers, providing access to guidance, community, and holistic care in a safe and empathetic environment.”
Arbaaz Khan added, “Being part of Hamraahi has been inspiring. Meeting patients and caregivers and witnessing their courage highlights the importance of awareness and community initiatives. This initiative emphasizes early support, awareness, and holistic care, creating a community filled with hope.”

Dr. Kunal Punamia, CEO of S.L. Raheja Hospital, said, “‘Hamraahi’ embodies our belief that treatment is not only about curing illness but caring for the mind, body, and heart. This initiative brings neurology and mental health onto a single platform while breaking the stigma around mental health to build a supportive community.”
Patients and caregivers from other Mumbai hospitals and care homes can join Hamraahi for free by scanning a QR code, enabling easy registration, participation in sessions, and access to expert guidance and resources. Members of the group, including patients from Raheja and other hospitals, will also benefit from Raheja Home Care services.
Hamraahi represents a significant step toward inclusive neurological care, support, and awareness in Mumbai, fostering a community where patients and caregivers walk the journey together.
