LUCKNOW – Russia has formally accepted an invitation from the Yogi government to participate as a partner country in the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2025. The mega-event, scheduled to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will take place from September 25 to 29 at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. A high-level delegation, business leaders, and cultural artists from Russia are expected to attend.
This marks a significant step in strengthening international ties, as UPITS 2024 featured Vietnam as its partner country, leading to increased economic and tourism cooperation. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that Uttar Pradesh is not only becoming the growth engine of India but also a global hub for investment. He believes Russia’s partnership will give the trade show an international boost and recognition.
High-Level Participation Confirmed
The Uttar Pradesh government extended a formal invitation to key Russian ministries—the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Economic Development, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and Ministry of Culture—through the Indian Embassy in Moscow on May 27, 2025. Following this, discussions were held with major Russian business associations. Russia has now officially confirmed its participation, accepting the invitation.

The Russian delegation will include experts from the banking, energy, skilling, education, and IT/ITeS sectors. They will meet with state-level officials to discuss potential business opportunities. Additionally, a nine-member Russian cultural troupe will perform, adding a new dimension to the India-Russia cultural relationship.
Knowledge Sessions and Investment Opportunities
A special knowledge session titled ‘Doing Business in Russia’ will be organized during the trade show. This session will provide Indian and UP-based industrialists with information on investment and business opportunities in Russia, fostering industrial collaboration and new investment avenues between the two nations.
