Romantic Thriller ‘Laal Daana’ Begins Shooting with Traditional Muhurat Ceremony in Lucknow

Lucknow: The much-anticipated Bhojpuri romantic thriller “Laal Daana” began its journey with a traditional muhurat ceremony on Tuesday morning at Shyam Mandir, Bakshi Ka Talab, Lucknow. The event featured the film’s lead pair Anil Krishna and Ananya Singh, who performed wedding rituals for the opening scene and sought blessings from elders, marking an auspicious start to the shoot.

Produced under the banner of Real Art of National Entertainment, Laal Daana promises a blend of mystery, thrill, and romance. The film is based on a story and screenplay by Rahul Dubey, directed by Satyendra N. Dubey, and captured through the lens of cinematographer Vijay Pandey. The production will take place across Lucknow, Bakshi Ka Talab, Kakori, Sidhauli, Sitapur, and Kanpur.

The film features an ensemble cast including Anil Krishna, Ananya Singh, Sunita Rai, Ritu Singh, Archana, Umakant Rai, Abha, Tarush, and Mala Chaubey, among others. This marks the acting debut of playback singer Ananya Singh.

The celebrated Bhojpuri actress Roopa Mishra, known for her roles in Swarg Jaisan Ghar Hamaar, Piya Milan, SP Devi, Anari, Hum Hain Nirahua Ki Deewani, and Kaali Dulhan, will play the female lead. Actor Anil Krishna, who has starred in hits like Bulldozer Wali Saas, Kalyugi Brahmachari, Tera Mera Saath Rahe, Saugandh Bhole Nath Ki, and Motli Dulhaniya, plays the male protagonist.

Music is composed by Anuj Kumar Tiwari, while Narendra Kanojia serves as the executive producer and Sanjay Shubhankar as the creative director. The production team includes Durgesh Chauhan, Rajveer Ratan, Devendra Modi, Ramesh Yadav, Mashhoor, and Ashok. The supporting cast features Gaurav Kumar, Beena Verma, C.S.R. Singh, Bal Krishna Sharma, Ishita Varshney, Jyoti, Shalini Chandra, Pankaj Saxena, Anupama, and Monica Agrawal.

The film’s plot revolves around Dinanath alias Danny, an ambitious man working in a multinational company, who wishes to marry Shriti, his junior colleague. However, Danny’s past resurfaces when it’s revealed that he was married off as a child to Sambhavi, daughter of Putan. As preparations for the long-delayed “gauna” (consummation ceremony) begin, Danny’s life spirals into turmoil. Defying his parents’ emotional blackmail and threats, he marries Shriti — but their wedding night takes an unexpected and suspenseful turn, setting the stage for a gripping narrative.

On the occasion of the muhurat, MLC Pawan Singh Chauhan extended his best wishes to the team for the film’s success. Also present at the ceremony were Akhilesh Mohan, former General Secretary of the State Bank Staff Association, author Ravindra Prabhat, Rajeev Saxena, and noted actor Dalbir Singh.

With its mix of romance, drama, and mystery, Laal Daana aims to captivate audiences and add a new dimension to the Bhojpuri film industry.
