Road Widening Work from Pakka Pul to Purniya Bandha Begins in Lucknow

Lucknow: In a major infrastructure boost for the city, the long-awaited widening and reconstruction of the road from Pakka Pul to Purniya Bandha has commenced. The project was formally inaugurated with a bhoomi pujan ceremony by MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora on Saturday.

The 3.2-kilometre stretch connecting Sitapur Road to Pakka Pul Bandha will be developed into a four-lane road at an estimated cost of ₹45 crore. The project is being undertaken by the Lucknow Development Authority and is expected to be completed within 18 months.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bora described the route as a “lifeline” for the region, which has long suffered from severe traffic congestion due to its narrow width of just five metres. The upgraded road will be expanded to 14 metres with a central divider, significantly easing traffic flow and enhancing commuter safety.

The widening is expected to benefit densely populated localities such as Triveni Nagar, Khadra, and Faizullaganj, providing smoother and more efficient connectivity for residents.

Dr. Bora also expressed gratitude to Narendra Modi and Yogi Adityanath, stating that rapid development in Lucknow North has been made possible under the “double-engine” government. He termed the project a milestone for the area’s infrastructure growth.

The bhoomi pujan ceremony was conducted amidst Vedic chants and witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including MP representative Diwakar Tripathi, Raghvendra Shukla, BJP city general secretary Tinku Sonkar, vice president Kumkum Rajput, Manoj K. Gupta, corporators Dev Sharma (Munna Mishra), Musavvir Ali Manshu, Priyanka Bajpai, Ramudas Kanojia, Swadesh Singh, C.B. Singh, Anurag Mishra, and many others.

Officials from the Lucknow Development Authority, BJP leaders, party workers, and a large number of local residents also attended the event.

The project is expected to bring significant relief from traffic congestion while improving connectivity and overall urban mobility in the northern parts of the city.
