Lucknow: With a steady rise in patient load in its OPD and emergency services, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) has witnessed a significant increase in demand for advanced diagnostic investigations, particularly MRI scans. MRI examinations are crucial for accurate and timely diagnosis in several serious and emergency medical conditions.
Due to increasing pressure on in-house MRI services, delays in investigations were occasionally being reported, which could potentially impact the timely initiation of treatment. Recognising that precise and prompt diagnosis is key to better clinical outcomes, RMLIMS has taken a proactive and patient-centric decision in the interest of public healthcare.

To ensure faster access to diagnostic services and prevent delays in treatment, RMLIMS has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with three nearby diagnostic centres—Shanya Scans, SRMS and Nidan Diagnostics. Under the agreement, patients referred by RMLIMS will be able to avail MRI investigations at rates prescribed by the institute, ensuring both affordability and accessibility.
Key Benefits for Patients
-
Significant reduction in waiting time for MRI examinations
-
Faster and more accurate diagnosis, especially for critical and emergency cases
-
Quicker clinical decision-making and timely initiation of treatment

-
Financial relief due to investigations being conducted at institutional rates
-
Improved patient management in OPD and emergency services
Medical experts note that MRI plays a decisive role in determining treatment strategies for a wide range of neurological, cardiac, orthopaedic and trauma-related conditions. Delays in such investigations can adversely affect patient outcomes, and this initiative is expected to substantially reduce associated risks.
A Strong Step Towards Patient-Centric Healthcare
The initiative reflects RMLIMS’s commitment to patient welfare, efficient healthcare management and the delivery of quality medical services. By collaborating with nearby diagnostic centres and ensuring standardised rates along with quality control, the institute aims to provide timely, safe and effective treatment to patients.
RMLIMS reaffirmed that it will continue to strengthen healthcare services in the future with a focus on early diagnosis, time-bound treatment and improved patient outcomes.
