RML Director Inaugurates Urban Health Training Centre in Ujariyawan

Lucknow: A new Urban Health and Training Centre (UHTC) was inaugurated on Monday in Ujariyawan, strengthening primary healthcare services in the capital. The centre was formally inaugurated by Prof. C.M. Singh, Director of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS).

Speaking as the chief guest, Prof. Singh said the centre would play a crucial role in delivering quality primary healthcare to the urban population while also enhancing the training opportunities for medical students.
He noted that such centres bridge the gap between medical learning and real-world community health needs.

UHTC In-charge, Junior Grade Professor Dr. Rashmi Kumari, provided an overview of the centre’s services, public awareness initiatives, and upcoming plans. She said the centre will prioritise maternal and child health, prevention of non-communicable diseases, immunisation, health education, and community surveys.

Head of the Department of Community Medicine, Prof. S.D. Kandpal, highlighted that the centre is equipped with modern facilities and will function as a model for urban healthcare delivery. PHC Ujariyawan Medical Officer Dr. Padmaja was also present on the occasion.

Following the inauguration, officials inspected the facility and expressed their commitment to providing improved health services to local residents. The event witnessed the presence of faculty members, staff, and community representatives.
