Los Angeles – Global superstar Rihanna, also known as Queen RiRi, is offering fellow parents a relatable glimpse into her parenting tactics. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter recently shared an amusing video on her Instagram Stories, featuring her lips and eyes playfully distorted with a banana filter.
Accompanying the quirky video, Rihanna wrote, “Since my kids love bananas so much but wanna ignore me.” According to “People” magazine, the lighthearted post made it clear that she was trying to get the attention of her two sons, RZA, 2, and Riot, 20 months, to listen to what she had to say. The video was set to H.E.R.’s 2016 track “Focus.”
Despite largely keeping her children out of the public eye, the singer, who is married to rapper A$AP Rocky, 36, offered a candid peek into how her boys are inheriting their parents’ artistic flair in a February interview with Harper’s Bazaar.
Rihanna described her elder son, RZA, as “so magical,” telling the publication, “He is a huge music lover. He loves music. He is an avid reader. He loves the water. Bath time, swimming, the beach, a pool, or anything else.” “People” magazine further reported that she characterized the toddler as “an empath.”
Speaking about her younger son, Riot, who was born in August 2023, the “Umbrella” singer revealed that he is “just hilarious” and hinted at him following in her musical footsteps by constantly wanting to “sing.”

“He starts to shriek and cry soon as he wakes up. Not in a sobbing manner. He just wants to sing,” she told the fashion magazine. “And I’m like, ‘All right, let’s get started!’ He’s my alarm clock in the morning! He doesn’t take no for an answer.”
The singer playfully remarked, “I don’t know where he came from, dude,” adding that Riot’s strong-willed nature reminds her of herself.
In the same interview, Rihanna also touched upon the challenges of parenthood, noting that RZA initially found the idea of having a sibling difficult but eventually adjusted to his role as a big brother.
