Restaurant and Hotel Traders Meet District Magistrate to Raise Concerns Over Commercial Gas Supply

Lucknow: Under the banner of Uttar Pradesh Adarsh Vyapar Mandal, restaurant, hotel, catering, and sweet shop traders met with District Magistrate Vishakh G at the Collectorate today to highlight difficulties in obtaining commercial gas cylinders.

The delegation, led by State President Sanjay Gupta, submitted a memorandum detailing the challenges faced by businesses in securing timely commercial gas supplies. Subsequently, the group met Additional District Magistrate (Food & Supply) Jyoti Gautam to discuss the issue and hand over the memorandum.

Addressing the traders, ADM Gautam assured that talks are ongoing with Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum, and Bharat Petroleum to find a swift and effective solution. She clarified that domestic gas cylinders are not affected, while commercial supplies may require some patience. Efforts are being made to prioritize the food sector in distribution.

She also highlighted that the administration is following guidelines issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India, to ensure compliance while addressing supply issues.

Acknowledging the global factors contributing to the situation, Sanjay Gupta urged traders to cooperate with the government and administration, avoid spreading rumors, and called for a prompt resolution for the food sector.

The delegation included Senior Vice President Avinash Tripathi, sweet shop and restaurant trader Rajesh Gupta, and food business representative Md. Adil, alongside other office-bearers of the Adarsh Vyapar Mandal.
