Rangoli and Poster Competition Held on World Environment Day by Bharat Scouts and Guides

Lucknow – On the occasion of World Environment Day, the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow District) organized a Rangoli and Poster Competition at Hanuman Prasad Rastogi Girls’ Inter College, Subhash Marg. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental protection through creative expression by young Scouts and Guides from various schools.

The program was inaugurated by Chief Guest and Patron of the District Association Dr. R.P. Mishra, along with District Chief Commissioner Dr. J.P. Mishra, Sharmila Singh, Vice President of the District Association, Poonam Sandhu, ASOC Lucknow Mandal, Sangeeta Agrawal, District Commissioner (Guides), and Dr. Aparna Tripathi, Principal of the host school and Assistant Commissioner (Guides). Other dignitaries present included school manager Krishna Jeevan Rastogi, principals from associated institutions, and other senior members of the district team.

The event began with the ceremonial lighting of a lamp before the idol of Goddess Saraswati, followed by the donning of Scout scarves to all the dignitaries. During the competition, Scouts and Guides showcased their creativity by making vibrant rangolis and posters themed around environmental conservation.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. R.P. Mishra emphasized the urgent need for environmental preservation, saying, “Considering the deteriorating environmental conditions, we must plant fruit-bearing trees in empty spaces around us to ensure a cleaner and greener future.” After the program, Dr. Mishra and other dignitaries planted saplings in the school premises to mark the significance of the day.

Dr. Aparna Tripathi honored all guests with mementoes and distributed participation certificates to the students from various schools. The event was skillfully anchored by DOC (Guide) Madhu Hanspal.

The school principal and Assistant District Commissioner, Dr. Aparna Tripathi, extended heartfelt thanks to all guests, Scouts, Guides, Scoutmasters, Guide Captains, and teachers for their enthusiastic participation. The event concluded with a strong message of sustainability, unity, and action for a greener tomorrow.
