Chennai/ Mumbai: Ram Charan may be celebrated globally for his larger-than-life screen presence, but off-screen, the actor is equally known for his deep-rooted spirituality. For more than 22 years, the star has consistently observed the sacred Ayyappa Deeksha, reflecting a steadfast commitment to faith amid the fast-paced demands of the entertainment industry.
Despite packed shooting schedules, international promotions, and the glamour associated with cinema, Ram Charan has continued to undertake the 41-day spiritual austerity observed by devotees of Lord Ayyappa. As part of the Deeksha (vratham), he follows strict disciplines before undertaking the pilgrimage to the revered Sabarimala Temple in Kerala.
During this period, the actor embraces a life of simplicity and restraint. He wears the traditional Ayyappa mala, dresses in black attire, walks barefoot, and adheres to a sattvic (pure vegetarian) diet. The observance also includes sleeping on the floor, avoiding indulgences, and focusing on devotion, peace, and self-discipline. Those close to him often highlight that he maintains these practices without compromise, even during demanding work commitments.
Recently, Ram Charan was seen attending a family celebration hosted by Allu Arjun for his brother Allu Sirish ahead of pre-wedding festivities. Photographs from the gathering showed the actor dressed in black and wearing the sacred mala, continuing to observe the Deeksha rituals while participating in family occasions — a gesture that earned admiration from fans and well-wishers alike.

On the professional front, Ram Charan is preparing for the release of his upcoming sports drama Peddi, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor and directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film is slated to hit cinemas on April 30, 2026.
Balancing global stardom with unwavering devotion, Ram Charan’s continued observance of Ayyappa Deeksha stands as a reflection of discipline, humility, and enduring faith — values he upholds both on and off screen.
