Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani Meets Barbados Speaker, Highlights Growing India–Barbados Ties

Bridgetown/New Delhi/Jaipur: Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani held a courtesy meeting with Barbados Parliament Speaker Arthur Holder in Bridgetown, aiming to strengthen parliamentary cooperation and deepen bilateral relations between India and Barbados.

During the interaction, both leaders discussed enhancing parliamentary dialogue, as well as expanding collaboration in renewable and green energy sectors. Devnani emphasized that India is committed to working with Barbados on sustainable development and democratic exchange.

Pride in PM Modi’s Recognition

Devnani noted that it was a moment of great pride for India that earlier this year, Barbados conferred its highest national honour, the “Order of Freedom,” on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said the award reflects global recognition of PM Modi’s visionary leadership and India’s growing influence in international diplomacy.

Symbol of Friendship: Speaker’s Chair from India

Devnani also visited the Barbados Parliament during the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference. He shared that the Speaker’s Chair in the Barbados Parliament was a gift from India, symbolizing the historic friendship, democratic values, and shared heritage between the two nations.

Calling the visit an inspiring opportunity to witness the rich democratic traditions of Barbados, Devnani highlighted that ties between India and Barbados continue to grow stronger and more meaningful.

Rajasthan Assembly Principal Secretary Bharat Bhushan Sharma was also present during the meeting. Devnani concluded that the partnership between the two countries is a testament to democratic growth and the spirit of global unity.
