Punjab Chamber of Commerce and Industries Hosts Indo–Canada Chamber Delegation in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: The Punjab Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) hosted a distinguished delegation from the Indo‑Canada Chamber of Commerce today in Chandigarh to explore new avenues of trade, investment, and economic cooperation between India and Canada.

The delegation was led by  Nina Tangri, Associate Minister for Small Business, Government of Ontario, Canada. She was accompanied by Prashant Srivastava, President of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce. The meeting was hosted and coordinated by  Dalip Sharma, Secretary General of the Punjab Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

During the interaction, both sides discussed opportunities for strengthening bilateral trade relations, particularly in the sectors of small and medium enterprises, innovation, agri-business, technology, and skill development. The discussions focused on enhancing business partnerships, encouraging cross-border investments, and creating platforms for entrepreneurs from both regions to collaborate.

Nina Tangri highlighted the importance of deepening economic engagement between Ontario and Indian states such as Punjab. She emphasized that the growing Indian diaspora in Canada and the strong entrepreneurial culture in Punjab provide a natural foundation for increased trade and investment cooperation.

Prashant Srivastava, President of the Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce, underlined the Chamber’s commitment to facilitating business exchanges, trade missions, and institutional partnerships between Canadian and Indian industries.

Dalip Sharma, Secretary General of PCCI, welcomed the delegation and reiterated the Chamber’s commitment to building strong global partnerships. He noted that Punjab’s dynamic industrial base and skilled workforce offer significant opportunities for international collaboration, particularly with Canadian businesses seeking to expand in India.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen institutional ties, promote business delegations, and identify sector-specific collaborations that can further enhance economic engagement between Ontario and Punjab.
