Prompt payment to be ensured in accounts of farmers

Lucknow: While reviewing the progress of wheat procurement, State Minister for Food and Logistics,  Satish Chandra Sharma said that prompt payment should be ensured in the accounts of farmers in relation to wheat procurement. He directed that the work of getting e-KYC done of all the ration card beneficiaries of the state should be expedited, so that the problems faced in the distribution of food grains to the ration card beneficiaries can be resolved soon.

These instructions were given by Minister of State for Food and Logistics,  Satish Chandra Sharma, while reviewing the works of the Food and Logistics Department in his office room located at Bapu Bhawan.

Sharma directed the transporters engaged in single stage door step delivery to deliver food grains and essential commodities to the fair price shop and ensure effective implementation of single stage door step delivery through continuous monitoring through GPS and human method.

While reviewing the distribution of fortified rice,  Sharma said that an effective system should be adopted to ensure the quality of fortified rice kernels. He said that the ration distribution system should be strengthened, so that the benefits of the government scheme of food grain distribution can be reached to every needy person.

Food Commissioner,  Saurabh Babu informed that the work of installation and operation of e-POS machines linked to e-weighing scale at all fair price shops of the state has been completed in a phased manner. At present, food grains are being distributed to the ration card beneficiaries of the state through the new system. In the month of May, 2024, food grains have been distributed to a total of 93 percent ration card beneficiaries in the state through the new e-POS system.

The Food Commissioner informed that the work of e-KYC is in progress in the state and e-KYC of a total of 93.66 lakh beneficiaries has been done. A new module for e-KYC in the state has been developed by NIC, Uttar Pradesh and all system integrator institutions and started from the distribution cycle of June, 2024. The server being used in e-KYC is being upgraded to resolve the problem of server load in future and for uninterrupted operation.

He informed that for GPS tracking of vehicles, devices have been installed in about 4000 vehicles in the districts. He informed that in the order of distribution of 02 free cylinder refills to Ujjwala beneficiaries, about 77.18 lakh cylinders were delivered in the first phase and about 74.81 lakh cylinder refills were delivered in the second phase.
