Lucknow: Prof. M.P. Gupta has assumed charge as Director of IIM Lucknow, succeeding Prof. Archana Shukla. A distinguished academic, Prof. Gupta previously held the Modi Foundation Chair Professorship at IIT Delhi. An alumnus of HBTU Kanpur and IIT Delhi, he has over three decades of academic and administrative experience, including key roles at IIT Delhi and IIT Jodhpur.
Renowned for pioneering work in e-governance, Prof. Gupta has authored over 260 papers, guided 38 PhD scholars, and led 25 international projects. His efforts have shaped initiatives like Digital India and Smart Cities, and he played a key role in bringing the EU’s FIWARE platform to India.
He has contributed significantly to national ICT policy and served on top government and industry panels. With accolades such as the Shastri Fellowship and the Best Professor Award, Prof. Gupta brings visionary leadership to IIM Lucknow, with a promise of innovation, growth, and global engagement.
