Pro Bono Club, LU conducts Sensitization Workshop

Lucknow: The Pro Bono Club, Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, under the guidance of Dr. Alok Kumar Yadav, Faculty In-Charge, organized a workshop on “Good Touch and Bad Touch” and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, at New Way Senior Secondary School, Aliganj on October 16, 2024.

The workshop aimed to educate children about the differences between good and bad touch, creating awareness about child sexual abuse and the importance of reporting incidents. The associates also emphasized the crucial role of school authorities in preventing child sexual abuse.

A team of dedicated associates, including Md. Afzal Hasan, Shreya, Saksham, Vishesh, Kritika, Vaishali, and Sanidhya, conducted the workshop. Student Coordinators Vanshika Gaur and Sumit Singh ensured the smooth execution of the event.

Dr. Alok Kumar Yadav emphasized, “Empowering children with knowledge is crucial in preventing child sexual abuse. We appreciate New Way Senior Secondary School’s collaboration and commitment to child safety.”

The workshop was an initiative towards creating a safer environment for children, promoting awareness about POCSO, and fostering responsible citizenship.
