Prime Video Launches Trailer for ‘Songs of Paradise,’ A Tribute to Legendary Kashmiri Singer Raj Begum

Mumbai — Prime Video, one of India’s most popular entertainment platforms, today launched the trailer for its new film, ‘Songs of Paradise.’ This deeply moving film, starring Saba Azad and Soni Razdan, is inspired by the musical journey of the legendary Padma Shri awardee, Raj Begum.

Directed and written by renowned filmmaker Danish Renzu, with additional writing by Niranjan Iyengar and Sunayana Kachroo, the film is a heartfelt tribute to Kashmir’s invaluable voice and its first female playback singer. Raj Begum’s journey paved the way for many musical artists from the valley. Presented by Excel Entertainment and produced by Apple Tree Pictures and Renzu Films, the film features a strong cast including Zain Khan Durrani, Sheeba Chaddha, Taruk Raina, Shishir Sharma, and Lilette Dubey.

The trailer offers a glimpse into the life and melodious journey of Noor Begum, portrayed by Saba Azad and Soni Razdan in different eras. The story is a compelling tale of courage, breaking traditions, and self-discovery. As a gifted young singer, Noor dares to live her dreams, defying the societal constraints placed on women of her time.

‘Songs of Paradise’ is a tribute to her inspiring musical journey, brought to life by the beautiful melodies of Abhay Sopori and the soulful voice of Masrat Un Nisa. The film also showcases the valley’s rich musical heritage and its breathtaking backdrop.
