Lucknow: The city is gearing up for the highly anticipated Gomti Book Festival, organized by the National Book Trust, India, from 9th to 17th November at the scenic Gomti Riverfront Park. In a high-level meeting held today, presided over by Ms. Roshan Jacob, IAS, Divisional Commissioner of Lucknow, District Magistrate Shri Surya Pal Gangwar, IAS, and NBT Director Yuvraj Malik, along with senior officials from the District Administration, City Transport, SDM, RTO, Municipal Corporation, LDA, and other stakeholders, a comprehensive review of public convenience measures and logistical arrangements was conducted.
To facilitate smooth movement and security on the day of the inauguration, the divisional commissioner directed officials to prioritize crowd safety, obtain necessary stage and safety clearances, and implement efficient crowd management systems. Ensuring the comfort and safety of the public is at the forefront of the festival’s preparations in light of the inauguration, which will be attended by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath.
For the convenience of attendees, special arrangements are being made, including additional buses to improve accessibility to the venue. City Transport has also added the venue of the festival, Gomti Riverfront Park as a designated drop point for buses, and detailed parking arrangements are being coordinated to ease traffic flow around the area. Backup provisions of water and basic food kits will be available for students and children attending the inaugural ceremony, ensuring they have essential supplies on hand. The festival grounds will be equipped with essential amenities such as toilets and dustbins, as well as a lost & found center and a complaint center for addressing any visitor concerns.
The festival will offer a vibrant blend of activities for children, including creative writing, poetry, storytelling sessions, and a special session on cyber safety, along with a children’s film festival screening award-winning children’s films. Renowned authors like Anand Neelakantan, Phunsok Ladakhi, Himanshu Bajpai, and others will lead engaging literary sessions and evenings of the festival will come alive with cultural performances by artists such as Indira Naik, Chinmayi Tripathi, Yugm band and more.
