Preparations Begin Across 56 Ghats in Ayodhya for Deepotsav 2025, 2.8 Million Lamps to Shine

Ayodhya | Under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, preparations for the ninth Deepotsav 2025 are in full swing, aiming to make the festival historic. Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University administration is working at full capacity to give the festival a grand and divine aura. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Bijendra Singh visited Ram Ki Paidi to inspect the ghats’ preparations, stating, “Deepotsav is not just an event; it symbolizes our faith, tradition, and dedication. It is our privilege to make it magnificent and divine.”

Volunteers Embark with ‘Jai Shri Ram’ Chants
At 10 a.m., volunteers departed from the university campus in seven buses, chanting “Jai Shri Ram” en route to the festival site. Under the supervision of Traffic Committee Chair Prof. Anoop Kumar, volunteers began placing lamps along the ghats. Their enthusiasm and devotion were evident as they worked to make Deepotsav a historic celebration.

Lamp Arrangement Underway Across 56 Ghats
Prof. Sant Sharan Mishra, nodal officer for Deepotsav, stated that preparations have entered the final phase. Lamp shipments have reached all 56 ghats, and placement work is ongoing at full pace. “The lamp arrangement will be completed by October 18. On the festival day, October 19, volunteers will add oil, light the wicks, and illuminate the ghats,” he said.

ID Cards Mandatory for Volunteers
The university administration has made ID cards compulsory for all volunteers. Entry to the ghats without an ID card will be prohibited. By Friday, all volunteers will receive their ID cards, along with T-shirts and caps.

Historic Scale and Record-Breaking Lamps
CM Yogi Adityanath is continuously reviewing the festival preparations, emphasizing that Deepotsav should showcase India’s cultural spirit to the world. The Vice-Chancellor highlighted that under the CM’s leadership, the government is promoting Deepotsav on a global scale. Over 26,11,101 lamps will be lit across 56 ghats, with more than 28 lakh lamps being arranged in preparation, aiming to set a new world record.

Deepotsav 2025: A Festival of Faith, Service, and Dedication
Volunteers from Avadh University, colleges, inter-colleges, and NGOs are contributing to the festival’s success. The energy and commitment of the youth working on the ghats demonstrate that Deepotsav has evolved from a mere event to the very soul of a “Ram-filled Ayodhya.”
