Pre-Conference Workshops of Hematocon 2025 Held at RMLIMS, Lucknow

Lucknow: In the run-up to the 66th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (ISHBT)—Hematocon 2025—two insightful pre-conference workshops were organized at the Department of Pathology, Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), Lucknow.

The workshops, held under the guidance of Prof. C.M. Singh, Director of RMLIMS, and Prof. Nuzhat Husain, Head of the Department of Pathology, focused on advancing diagnostic expertise in hematological disorders. The two parallel sessions included “Hemoglobinopathy Diagnosis” and “Lymphoma Morphology & Immunohistochemistry.”

The Hemoglobinopathy Diagnosis Workshop was coordinated by Prof. Namrata P. Awasthi, Professor of Pathology and Head of Clinical Hematology. The session provided detailed insights into diagnostic methods for hemoglobin disorders such as thalassemia and sickle cell disease, with expert-led demonstrations on High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and molecular diagnostic techniques.

Simultaneously, the Lymphoma Morphology and Immunohistochemistry Workshop was led by Prof. Pradyumn Singh, Dean and Professor of Pathology. Renowned specialists from across the country delivered live case discussions and expert lectures using 22-header microscopy, highlighting both morphological and immunohistochemical aspects of lymphoma diagnosis.

Each workshop witnessed participation from around 30 delegates, including postgraduate students, researchers, and clinicians from various medical institutions. Participants highly appreciated the academic depth, hands-on exposure, and clinical relevance of the sessions.

These pre-conference workshops set a strong academic foundation for the upcoming Hematocon 2025, marking a promising beginning to the prestigious national event dedicated to innovations and advancements in hematology.
