Prayagraj Commissioner Inspects Six-Lane Bridge Construction, Sets June 2026 Deadline for Timely and Quality Completion

Prayagraj: Prayagraj Commissioner Saumya Agrawal conducted an on-site inspection of the under-construction six-lane bridge from Malak Harhar to Bailey, closely reviewing the pace and progress of the project. She directed the executing agency, SPS Construction India Pvt. Ltd., to complete the bridge by June 2026, ensuring strict adherence to quality standards and the project timeline.

The Commissioner personally visited the stretch from Malak Harhar to the banks of the Ganga River to assess the current status of work. During the inspection, Varun Varshney, Assistant Executive Engineer from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, informed that construction of EP-4 pillar is progressing rapidly and will be completed on schedule.

Commissioner Agrawal also reviewed pillar construction, segment casting, and superstructure-related activities, emphasising that all stages of work must be finished within the stipulated timeframe without compromising quality.

She issued clear instructions to the Executive Engineers of Setu Nigam and the Irrigation Department to conduct regular site visits, coordinate closely with the construction agency, speed up execution, and continuously monitor essential arrangements.

Additionally, the Mela Authority was directed to ensure routine monitoring of the bridge construction and submit progress review reports. The Commissioner stressed strict compliance with the project deadline and assured that additional resources will be provided if required, so that the bridge meets both quality benchmarks and timely delivery expectations.
