Lucknow: Medanta Hospital in Lucknow conducted a week-long awareness campaign from July 15 to 21, 2025, as part of Plastic Surgery Week, offering free OPD consultations to patients suffering from post-burn deformities. The initiative aimed to raise public awareness about plastic and reconstructive surgery and to emphasize that timely medical intervention can restore not only physical form but also confidence and quality of life.
Throughout the week, a number of patients came forward to share their challenges and sought expert advice on treatment possibilities. Dr. Nikhil Puri, Director of Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Surgery at Medanta, personally attended to patients during the special OPD sessions.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Puri said, “Post-burn deformities are not just physical; they often leave a lasting psychological impact. Plastic surgery can play a transformative role in rebuilding confidence and dignity. Our goal during this week was to inform the community that such surgeries are not merely cosmetic—they offer a chance to begin life anew with self-assurance.”

The initiative received an overwhelmingly positive response from both patients and their families. Many expressed gratitude for the compassionate care and expert guidance provided during the campaign.
The hospital administration confirmed that more such awareness drives are planned in the near future to ensure that a larger number of patients in need can access vital reconstructive services. Medanta’s initiative stands as a strong step toward making advanced healthcare both accessible and empathetic.
