Police Achieve Major Breakthrough, Three Drug Traffickers Arrested in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar: In a significant blow to illegal drug trafficking, the Muzaffarnagar Police arrested three drug peddlers and seized 21.1 kg of marijuana, worth nearly ₹6 lakh, along with the car used in the smuggling operation. The arrests were made under the ongoing anti-narcotics drive “Operation Savera.”

Operation Led Under Senior Supervision

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Verma, and supervised by Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Bansal, Circle Officer Budhana Gajendra Pal Singh, and Shahpur Station House Officer Mohan Chaudhary.

On November 24, 2025, Shahpur Police were patrolling near the Kutba canal track when they noticed a suspicious vehicle parked near an old, abandoned irrigation department structure.

21.1 kg Marijuana Recovered

A police team checked the surrounding area and spotted three men near the ruins. Upon seeing the police, the suspects attempted to flee but were swiftly intercepted and taken into custody. A search of the car revealed 21 kg 100 grams of marijuana, hidden for transportation.

Accused Identified

The arrested individuals were identified as:

  • Dilshad, son of Basir, resident of Mohalla Kassawan, Shahpur, Muzaffarnagar (age 44)
  • Lilla alias Laadi, son of Panna, resident of Kyodak, Kaithal Sadar, Kaithal, Haryana (age 30)
  • Jasmer Singh alias Goldy, son of Santlal, resident of Kyodak, Kaithal Sadar, Kaithal, Haryana (age 35)

The police also seized a Toyota Etios (HR02AT5493) used in the illegal trade.

Accused Admit to Drug Trafficking

During preliminary questioning, the accused confessed to being part of an interstate drug smuggling racket. They revealed that they had procured the marijuana from Odisha at low prices and were planning to supply it in Haryana for higher profits.

Investigation Underway

Shahpur Police are now gathering information on the criminal history of the accused and tracing the wider network involved in the trafficking. Further legal action is being initiated.

The swift action by Muzaffarnagar Police marks another major success in strengthening the fight against drug crime in the region.
