New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a forceful Independence Day address from the ramparts of the Red Fort, reaffirmed India’s firm stance against terrorism and aggression from across the border, declaring, “Blood and water will not flow together.” Without directly naming Pakistan, he linked his remarks to the Indus Waters Treaty and cross-border terrorism, emphasising that India will no longer tolerate acts of violence against its citizens.
Paying tribute to the armed forces, Modi hailed Operation Sindoor as a powerful expression of the anger of 1.4 billion Indians against terrorism. He revealed that Indian forces had penetrated deep into enemy territory, destroying terrorist camps and delivering punishment “beyond the enemy’s imagination.” Recalling the April 22 Pahalgam massacre, in which militants killed civilians after questioning their religion, he said the brutality had filled the entire country with rage and shocked the world.

“Operation Sindoor,” Modi said, “is a message to the world that India will respond decisively to protect its people. Our armed forces have acted with courage and precision, and the enemy will remember this lesson for a long time.”
The Prime Minister also stressed that India would not succumb to nuclear blackmail, warning that any further provocation would be met with a resolute military response.

Home Minister Amit Shah praised Modi’s address, calling it a “visionary roadmap for a strong and prosperous India.” In a post on X, Shah said the speech reflected the government’s unwavering commitment to national security, economic development, and citizens’ welfare. He highlighted initiatives mentioned by the Prime Minister, including Mission Sudarshan Chakra for infrastructure security, a high-level demographic mission to combat illegal infiltration, and the resolve to achieve self-reliance in sectors like nuclear energy, critical minerals, space, and jet engine manufacturing.
Shah also welcomed the announcement of the Pradhan Mantri Vikasheel Bharat Rozgar Yojana ahead of Diwali, along with major GST relief measures, which he said would ease the lives of citizens and boost small businesses.
With a message blending security resolve and developmental ambition, Modi’s Independence Day speech underscored the dual focus of the government—protecting the nation’s sovereignty while driving forward its path to self-reliance and prosperity.
